Akron, OH, (June 18, 2024) - Project GRAD Akron, a leading organization dedicated to empowering students to achieve academic success and pursue higher education, held its Annual Meeting on May 8, 2024. During the meeting, elections were made to the Board of Directors, shaping the organization's leadership for the coming years.
Project GRAD Akron Celebrates Record Success at the 10th Annual March GRADness Fundraiser
Project GRAD Akron is thrilled to announce the success of its 10th Annual March GRADness fundraiser, held on Tues., April 9, 2024.
This milestone event, hosted at Greystone Hall in downtown Akron, brought together community members, supporters, and sponsors for an evening of celebration and philanthropy.
March GRADness, affectionately dubbed as "the happiest hour" affair, exceeded expectations with its lineup of activities, networking opportunities, and food stations. Attendees were treated to an array of experiences including raffles, games with enticing prizes, and a selection of beverages, all while supporting a noble cause.

Project GRAD Akron (PGA) hosted its 17th Annual Breakfast and Educational Fun with Santa on Saturday, December 4 at Buchtel Community Learning Center and East Community Learning, both of the Akron Public Schools. The family-friendly event was free and open to the public. A special thank you is extended to the Akron Public Schools, CareSource, and Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation for their support. Additionally, the event was the Kick-off for Ideastream Public Media’s Ready to Learn Initiative.

$89 Million Awarded for Summer Learning and Afterschool Programs that Address Students’ Academic Needs and Well-Being
Akron Public Schools to receive $1.18 million in grant money for 'GEAR UP' program, with Project GRAD Akron as the lead partner in the grant
The grant funds will be used to provide financial aid information for postsecondary education encouraging enrollment in rigorous and challenging coursework to reduce the need for remediation at the postsecondary level; implementing activities to improve the number of participating students who obtain a secondary school diploma and who complete applications for and enroll in a program of postsecondary education; and providing scholarships to students.

Project GRAD Akron to Host 8th Annual March GRADness
Project GRAD Akron (PGA) is hosting its 8th Annual March GRADness fundraiser on Monday, April 4, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Greystone Hall in Akron, OH. March GRADness is a basketball-themed, casual, “Happy Hour” event and proceeds will support PGA’s programs, services, and scholarship fund, which benefit students in the Akron Public Schools.
All children ages 1 through 18 are eligible to receive free meals during the summer months at participating program sites.
Individuals ages 19 through 21 who have been identified as having mental or physical disabilities and are following Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) through their current enrollment in educational programs also are eligible for free summer meals.
