Project GRAD Akron celebrated its Fifth Annual Achieving Dreams Celebration on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at The University of Akron’s Quaker Station. Approximately three hundred fifty (350) persons were in attendance. Highlights of the evening included a pre-event reception for sponsors, honorees, and VIP guests; a fabulous silent auction of more than one hundred (100) items; and an awards program which will include a video presentation of the 2011 honorees.
The 2011 honorees were: The evening will include dinner, a fabulous silent auction, and an awards program. This year, we will recognize the achievements of nine Buchtel High School graduates for their outstanding professional accomplishments and community service. The 2011 honorees are Brandon L. Ford, RN, Esq. (Young Alumni); Gregory Hill, DO, Kym Sellers, and Victoria Turner-King (Distinguished Service to Humanity); and Melodie Morgan-Minott, MD, Herbert Newman, Esq., Dianne Rubin Newman, Esq., Roger Read, and Judy Licklider Read (Lifetime Achievement). Tuesday Musical Association is our Community Service Recipient.
