Project GRAD Akron will sponsor our Fourth Annual March GRADness fundraiser on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Greystone Hall, 103 S. High Street, Akron, Ohio. March GRADness will feature a “Happy Hour” type event with delicious food stations, sports trivia and games with prizes, beverages, raffles, networking, and a great deal of fun! The Ultimate National Championship Sponsor is G. Stephens, Inc.
March GRADness is a casual fundraiser to benefit our College Access Programs and Scholarship Fund. The event is chaired by Project GRAD Akron Board members, James Harris Jr. and Anita Davis, Esq. Harris serves as the Senior IT Project Manager for Eaton Corporation; and Davis serves as the Legal Counsel for the Summit County Department of Job and Family Services. Also serving on the committee are Attorney Jacqueline Silas-Butler, Executive Director of Project GRAD Akron, and Dana K. LaGarde, President of the Board of Directors. Additional committee members include: Ingrid Abraham-Turner, Cynthia Blake, Lawrence Butler, Howard Curry, Johnnette Curry, Barbara Feld, Lashawrida Fellows, Randall “Rich” Freeman, Hanne Lore Gambrell, Bryan Gadson, Annette Grimes Hammonds, Byron Hopkins, Dr. Michael Kavulic, Andrè Lessears, Mary Outley-Kelly, Angela Payden, Richard Roberts, Paul Stallings, Danielle Stokes, Abraham Wescott, Virginique Whitmore, and Kimberly Young.
Project GRAD (Graduation Really Achieves Dreams) collaborates to provide a system of programs, supports, and scholarships for underrepresented students to achieve success from kindergarten through career. In addition to the various programs and services, Project GRAD Akron provides programs and services for students from kindergarten to college. Since 2006 Project GRAD Akron has awarded over $1.6 million in scholarships to graduates of Buchtel High School of the Akron Public Schools.
Opportunities to support the event include the purchase of tickets, which are available for $100.00 VIP and $40.00 General Admission, donation of sports or college-related raffle items, and/or making contributions to support Project GRAD Akron. Limited seating is still available for the event.
