Project GRAD Akron to host 13th Annual Breakfast and Educational Fun with Santa

AKRON, OH – Project GRAD Akron is hosting the 13th Annual Breakfast and Educational Fun with Santa on Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until Noon, at a new location this year, Buchtel Community Learning Center, 1040 Copley Road, Akron, Ohio.  The event is free and open to elementary and pre-school age children and their families.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Activities at the event will include: educational games, story telling and reading, holiday craft making, and informational booths providing community resources for parents/guardians.  Highlighting the event will be the arrival of Santa at 9:30 a.m. Children can visit with and have their picture taken with Santa.  Breakfast will be served.  This event is partially funded by a Neighborhood Partnership Grant from the City of Akron and the Akron Community Foundation.

We are currently seeking volunteers to help with activity centers for children.  Additionally, we are seeking community agencies that are interested in having a booth to share available services and resources with families.  There is no cost for tables.

Project GRAD Akron is celebrating its 15th year of serving students and families in the Akron Public Schools. Project GRAD Akron, in collaboration with community partners, provides programs, services, supports, and scholarships to students in targeted schools in the Akron Public Schools, providing academic, social services support, and college and career readiness and awareness services for students.  As of June 2017, Project GRAD Akron has awarded over $1.6 million dollars in scholarships to Buchtel High School’s graduating seniors.
